IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Fair is being organized for the 18th time, hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD). As one of Europe’s largest fashion fairs where trends are shaped, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir continues to introduce new designers to the fashion world through its Bridal Gown Design Competition. Within this scope, the “Performance Fashion Show” by Sercan İzci, who won first place last year, was presented to the appreciation of designers, exhibitors and visitors.
In addition to its contribution to the national economy, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal, Groom and Evening Wear Fair continues to bring new designers into the sector each year. Having won first place in the Bridal Gown Design Competition while still a student, Sercan İzci had the opportunity to stage his first professional fashion show as part of the fair, presenting an elegant collection to representatives of the fashion and design world. İzci’s 20-piece collection, inspired by the mythological story of “Persephone,” received high praise from fashion professionals.
Experiencing the excitement of returning to the runway where he had competed the previous year—this time with his own designs—İzci said:
“The one-year journey has been a very enriching experience for me. I would like to thank İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, İZFAŞ and EGSD for providing this opportunity, supporting young designers and inspiring us. There is a great team effort behind these designs. This passion, which began in my childhood while playing with my grandmother’s sewing machine, reaching this point is a great source of happiness for me. In the coming years, I hope to take part on this runway with my own brand.”
