A new star has emerged at IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal, Groom and Evening Wear Fair, which shapes the future of fashion together with young designers. The “Narcissus” collection, consisting of 24 pieces and designed by Enes Yolcu, the winner of the 13th Bridal Design Competition, was presented on the runway at the Performance Fashion Show held as part of the 17th IF Wedding Fashion İzmir. Inspired by the mythological story of the narcissus flower, the elegant and striking collection received a standing ovation.
The IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Fair opened its doors for the 17th time. Hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD), the fair is being held between 21–24 November 2023. A total of 228 exhibitors from Turkey and 7 countries are showcasing products in bridalwear, eveningwear, menswear, accessories and children’s wear. As Europe’s largest fair in its sector, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir continues to inspire young designers and illuminate their dreams of entering the fashion world.
The Bridal Design Competition, which offers young designers the opportunity to present their first professional fashion show, featured Enes Yolcu’s Performance Fashion Show on the third day of the fair. Yolcu’s eveningwear collection, inspired by the mythological story of the narcissus flower, captivated designers, exhibitors and visitors alike.
Contributing to the national economy every year, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir continues to introduce new talents to the fashion industry while presenting designs that shape global fashion trends. Still a student, Enes Yolcu had the opportunity to stage his first professional fashion show and presented an elegant collection to representatives of the fashion and design world. The 22-piece collection received high praise from fashion professionals.
Expressing his excitement at returning to the same runway where he once competed, Yolcu said:
“It is an incredible feeling to stand on this runway with my own designs. I would like to thank İZFAŞ for opening the way for young designers and inspiring us. There is a huge team effort behind these designs. In the coming years, I hope to take part on this runway with my own brand.”
Following the Performance Fashion Show, Deputy Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mustafa Özuslu stated that he was pleased to witness Enes Yolcu’s successful journey after presenting him with the first prize last year, and wished him continued success. Plaques of appreciation were also presented to Serkan Duman, owner of Duman Agency and choreography sponsor of the show, and Mehmet Bilgin, owner of Prenses Textile, the fabric sponsor.
Plaques of appreciation were also presented to the current and former presidents of the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD) in recognition of their contributions to both the sector and the IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Fair. EGSD Chairman Hayati Ertuğrul received his plaque from Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu, while former presidents Serdar Yavaşoğlu, Nedim Örün, Mukadder Özden and Atınç Abay received their plaques from İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Alıcı.
