IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal, Groom and Evening Wear Fair turned into a true fashion spectacle with its runway shows showcasing brands’ new season collections, alongside its commercial activities. Renowned models from Türkiye such as Özge Ulusoy, Demet Şener, Ivana Sert and Sema Şimşek expressed their pleasure at being in İzmir and walking the IF Wedding Fashion İzmir runway.
Hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD), the fair brings together 228 exhibitors from 11 cities in Türkiye and seven countries, representing evening wear, bridal gowns, groom wear, accessories and children’s wear product groups. Numerous fashion shows are held throughout the fair. With elegant designs and new season collections showcased on the runway, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir has transformed into a complete fashion show. Bridal gowns, groom suits and evening wear designs were presented to the appreciation of industry professionals and visitors in the specially designed runway area at fuarizmir.
A total of 10 fashion shows were held on the second and third days of the fair. On the second day, the Miss Lioness, World of The Fashion, In Couture and Wedding Style fashion shows, and on the third day, Mix Brand Fashion Show, Cinderella, Ozzo Kids, Alamo and the Enes Yolcu Performance Fashion Show received great acclaim from the audience. In addition to black and white, yellow and green tones stood out prominently in the collections. Famous models such as Özge Ulusoy, Demet Şener, Ivana Sert, Sema Şimşek, Sezgi Sena Akay, Ece Gürsel, Wilma Elles, Şebnem Schaefer, Gizem Özdilli, Simge Tertemiz, Begüm Özbek, Alona Kral and Açelya Kartal also took to the runway. The young models who walked the runway during the Ozzo Kids fashion show were rewarded with a standing ovation.
Meeting with the famous models, İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Alıcı said:
“IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Fair is also one of Europe’s largest fashion shows. I would like to thank all our models, designers, choreographers and brands for coming to İzmir, being part of this runway and presenting us with such a fashion spectacle. They delivered wonderful shows. See you again next year.”
During the World of The Fashion show by designer Erkan Yılmaz, Sema Şimşek experienced an unfortunate accident when her dress caught under her foot. She received great support from both the audience and her fellow models. Stating that this was the first such incident in her 31-year career, Şimşek said:
“These friendships go back many years. This is the first time something like this has happened to me in my professional life. My friends were very supportive both on the runway and backstage. We see each other more than our families; we are like siblings. I thank everyone for their support.”
Stating that she has been walking the IF Wedding Fashion İzmir runways for 15 years, Özge Ulusoy said:
“We come every year and we are very happy to be here. This is my 15th year, and being here every year, being in İzmir, is always wonderful. We wish to come more often.”
Demet Şener expressed her happiness, saying:
“I am very happy. I sincerely thank everyone who gives us the opportunity to walk on this beautiful runway. It is a pleasure to see our friends, and İzmir is a wonderful city.”
She emphasized that she always takes to the runway with the excitement of the first day, adding:
“We always carry that first-day excitement. Where there is no excitement, it means you no longer love your job. No matter whether 20 or 30 years pass, if we are still excited, it shows how much we love what we do.”
Ivana Sert, who noted that she often spends time in Urla, İzmir, said:
“Being here is always wonderful. As an ‘Urla bride,’ I have started coming even more often. The organization is excellent, and as a designer I really liked the collections. We also have designers from abroad; there is great effort behind this event. İZFAŞ, Duman Agency and Erkan Yılmaz delivered a wonderful organization. Thank you.”
Having recently become a mother for the third time, Wilma Elles shared her feelings:
“It has been six weeks since giving birth, and I am very happy that I fit into this outfit. I worked very hard to get back in shape. It felt like the fashion show of the year—everything was magnificent: the outfits, the models and our friends. Everything was beautiful.”
