At IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, which leads the fashion world, a wide range of bold designs set to become trends in 2023 are being presented to industry professionals through runway shows. Renowned models such as Özge Ulusoy, Didem Soydan, Demet Şener, Şevval Şahin, and Wilma Elles also took to the IF Wedding runways. Watching the shows, İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Alıcı expressed pride in hosting Europe’s largest fashion fair and chatted with the models on the runway. Alıcı said, “Thank you all so much. Our fashion shows add the greatest color to our fair. In Türkiye, our sector hosts beautiful and vibrant fashion shows, and you are the architects of this. You are all very beautiful—your beauty suits İzmir perfectly.”
IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal Wear, Groom Wear and Eveningwear Fair has opened its doors for the 16th time. Organized by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD) and hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the fair features 222 exhibitors from Türkiye and 10 countries, covering eveningwear, bridal wear, groom wear, accessories, and children’s wear. In addition to thousands of domestic professional visitors, the fair is expected to host nearly 3,000 international visitors. Numerous fashion shows are being held throughout the event. In its first two days, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir turned into a full-fledged fashion spectacle, where designs set to shape 2023 fashion were unveiled for the first time. Bridal gowns, groom wear, and eveningwear collections were showcased to industry professionals in a specially designed runway area at fuarizmir.
The first two days of the fair featured 16 fashion shows. On the evening of the first day, the Final Fashion Show of the 13th Bridal Gown Design Competition was held, where Enes Yolcu (İzmir University of Economics) won first place, Arife Gedik (Mersin University) placed second, and İlayda Yaşın (İzmir University of Economics) placed third. On the first day, solo fashion shows by Murat Acar, Ümit Collection, Çırağan Couture, Edgers, Novabella, and La Mariee Atelier brought color to the IF Wedding Fashion İzmir runways.
On the second day, solo fashion shows by Miss Lioness, Seren Moda, Rojbey, In Couture, and İğne İplik Moda, as well as the Wedding Style Show mixed runway show accompanied by a live performance from renowned singer Della Miles during World of the Fashion by Erkan Yılmaz, featured prominent models presenting the designs. In the Trunk Show area, a mixed runway show and Ayşenur Yetişkin’s W/Fibonacci solo show were also held.
After the World of the Fashion by Erkan Yılmaz show, İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Alıcı met and chatted with the participating models. She stated, “IF Wedding Fashion İzmir is Europe’s largest fashion fair. We are proud to host it in İzmir. We have 222 exhibitors across all product groups, visitors and buyer delegations from over 80 countries. Our fashion shows add the greatest vibrancy to the fair. The sector’s leading companies are here, and together with EGSD we organized a wonderful Bridal Gown Design Competition. The performance fashion show will take place on the third day. We invite everyone.”
Alıcı continued, “It was a wonderful fashion show. I would like to thank the agency, Mr. Erkan, and all our models. In Türkiye, the sector truly hosts colorful and beautiful fashion shows, and you are the creators of these. You are all very beautiful—your beauty suits İzmir perfectly. Thank you for being here.”
The models who participated in the shows also expressed their happiness at being in İzmir and at IF Wedding Fashion İzmir. Özge Ulusoy said, “We’ve been coming to İZFAŞ’s IF Wedding Fashion İzmir fair since almost our childhood. I thank the organizers because they truly create Türkiye’s—and Europe’s—largest fair and provide tremendous employment for the sector. They also reunite us with the runways we miss.”
Didem Soydan added, “İzmir is one of the places where we learned to walk on the runway. Seeing many brands again after the pandemic and the revival of the sector is wonderful. I’m very happy to walk alongside models I admire.”
Demet Şener said, “I’m very happy—thank you everyone. I’m thrilled to be here again, back on the runways, doing the work I love.”
Wilma Elles commented, “Türkiye’s textile sector is truly one of the world’s leading industries. You can really feel that prestige here. The fashion show was amazing, and I’m very happy to be with my fellow models. I congratulate the designers for creating works that can serve as global examples.”
In the first two days, famous models including Özge Ulusoy, Şevval Şahin, Didem Soydan, Demet Şener, Wilma Elles, Ece Gürsel, Gizem Özdilli, Sema Şimşek, Şebnem Schaefer, Sezgi Sena Akay, and Günay Musayeva also appeared on the runway. The shows, featuring models from Duman Fashion Events and Rönesans Agency, attracted great interest.
On its third day, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir will host solo fashion shows by Swan, Alin Abiye, and Alamo, the Closing Fashion Show mixed runway, the Performance Fashion Show of Hasancan Meşelik, winner of the 12th Bridal Gown Design Competition, and another mixed runway show in the Trunk Show area. IF Wedding Fashion İzmir will continue to welcome visitors between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
