One of Europe’s largest fashion fairs, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal, Groom and Evening Wear Fair, will open its doors tomorrow (Tuesday). Taking place for the 17th time at fuarizmir on November 21–24, 2023, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir will continue to be the global gateway for the bridal, groom and evening wear sectors with its business meetings, trend-setting events and runway shows featuring renowned names.
The capital of fashion and bridal wear, İzmir, will host domestic and international exhibitors, experienced designers, emerging talents and vibrant runway shows showcasing 2024 fashion trends through IF Wedding Fashion İzmir. Hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD), the fair will welcome professional visitors with 228 exhibitors from 11 cities in Türkiye and 7 countries, representing evening wear, bridal gowns, groom wear, accessories and children’s wear product groups.
Showcasing 2024 collections for the first time, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir will once again dazzle with glamorous runways featuring designs by renowned brands and emerging talents, accompanied by leading models. A total of 15 fashion shows will be held during the fair. Alongside models from Duman Fashion Event and Rönesans Model Agency, famous names such as Özge Ulusoy, Demet Şener, Wilma Elles, Sema Şimşek, Şevval Şahin, İpek Tenolçay, Deniz Pulaş, Ivana Sert, Şebnem Schaefer, Ece Gürsel, Simge Tertemiz, Gizem Özdilli, Sezgi Sena Akay, Begüm Özbek, Simge Ünal, Ebru Öztürk and Alona Kral will take to the runway.
In addition to professional models, 30 children aged between 3 and 13 will walk the runway at a fashion show organized by a children’s wear brand. Designers participating in the fair will exhibit their bridal, groom and evening wear collections in specially designed areas. The “Performance Fashion Show” by Enes Yolcu, winner of last year’s Bridal Gown Design Competition, inspired by the mythological story of the narcissus flower Narcissus, will also be presented to designers, exhibitors and visitors.
The winners of the Bridal Gown Design Competition, which brings new talents into the sector, will be announced on the opening day of the fair. The 15 finalists of the 14th Bridal Gown Design Competition presented their designs to the jury the previous day. Chaired by Övge Yıldızhan, the jury included academics, designers and industry professionals from leading universities and institutions. The award-winning designers will be announced during the Akış Fashion Show on the opening day. In addition to special awards, the winners will take confident steps into their professional careers.
