Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Dr. Cemil Tugay attended the 2nd Boyoz Festival, organized to mark the 22nd anniversary of the Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center Association. Mayor Tugay stated, “As İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, we are ready to provide all possible support to our fashion center, which is taking rapid steps toward becoming a global brand. Joining forces with our tradespeople and industrialists will carry İzmir to the position it truly deserves.”
The Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center Association organized the Boyoz Festival for the second time in celebration of its 22nd anniversary. Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay showed his support by attending the event. The gathering was also attended by Mayor of Konak Nilüfer Çınarlı Mutlu, President of the İzmir Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Yalçın Ata, Chairman of the Board of the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association Hayati Ertuğrul, Chairman of the Board of the Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center Association Erdoğan Kulu, and professionals from the fashion industry.
Emphasizing the strategic importance of the sector, Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay said:
“Having leading industries not only in Türkiye but also on a global scale undoubtedly plays a major role in İzmir’s development. The ready-to-wear and textile sector in İzmir is not only one of the lifelines of production; it is also a pioneering field for design, creativity, fashion, employment for future generations and global branding. We also utilize this accumulated strength through the fairs we organize at fuarizmir, which is the largest venue of its kind in Europe. This year alone, we are organizing four fairs dedicated to the sector. In October, with FashionTech, FashionPrime and FashionHome, we will host one of the largest gatherings of the ready-to-wear and apparel industry. In November, we will open our doors to the world for the 18th time with IF Wedding Fashion İzmir.”
Stressing that support for the sector will continue, Mayor Tugay added:
“With these efforts, our goal and wish is for industry representatives to increase their exports, keep their finger on the pulse of the sector, stay informed about innovations and open up to the world. One of the most significant initiatives serving this purpose is the Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center. I congratulate all association executives for the value you add to the city each year and for your visionary work. As İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, we are ready to provide every possible support to our fashion center, which is rapidly advancing toward becoming a global brand. Standing together with our tradespeople and industrialists and sharing responsibility will carry İzmir to the position it truly deserves.”
Mayor of Konak Nilüfer Çınarlı Mutlu said, “With the vision of our Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Cemil Tugay, we will work together during this term to bring Mimar Kemalettin to its rightful position as a fashion center.”
Chairman of the Board of the Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center Association Erdoğan Kulu stated, “I believe that our second traditional fashion show, which we will hold in September, will be even more vibrant with the participation of Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay and Mayor Nilüfer Çınarlı Mutlu.”
Mayor Tugay expressed his support for the fashion show, while Erdoğan Kulu thanked Mayor Tugay for his support and presented him with a commemorative plaque.
