Applications for the International Bridal Gown Design Competition, organized within the scope of IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal Wear, Groom Wear and Eveningwear Fair, have been extended until November 15. Aiming to introduce new designers to the industry, the 11th International Bridal Gown Design Competition will be held under the theme “Next Generation Effect.” Last year, 375 designs by 125 designers competed in the International Bridal Gown Design Competition, and this year once again, young designers will be brought together with industry professionals.
As Europe’s largest fair in terms of exhibition area, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal Wear, Groom Wear and Eveningwear Fair will be held for the 14th time between January 21–24, 2020, organized by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD) and hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. Open exclusively to professional visitors at Fuar İzmir, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir will continue to introduce new designers to the sector through the 11th International Bridal Gown Design Competition held within the fair. This year’s competition, themed “Next Generation Effect,” aims to strengthen the industry with new designs and to reveal original creations capable of setting fashion and trends in international markets.
To participate in the 11th International Bridal Gown Design Competition, candidates must be graduates of at least a high school or an equivalent relevant institution. Designers aged 18 to 40 are eligible to apply, while those who have previously won awards are not eligible. In the competition, where originality is a key requirement, the preliminary selection will take place on November 21, 2019, and the semi-finalists will be announced on November 22. The award ceremony will be held on January 21, the opening day of IF Wedding Fashion İzmir.
In addition to gaining a fast entry into the industry, winners of the 11th International Bridal Gown Design Competition will receive special prizes. The first-place winner will receive the “İZFAŞ Special Award” worth 12,500 TRY, along with a trip to an international fair determined by İZFAŞ. The second-place winner will receive the “EGSD Special Award” worth 10,000 TRY, as well as a trip to an international fair determined by EGSD. The third-place winner will receive a prize of 7,500 TRY.
