“Silent Elegance” Took to the Runway at IF Wedding Fashion İzmir

In addition to its strong international commercial identity, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal Gown, Groom Suit and Evening Wear Fair continues to highlight inspiring success stories of young designers through the Wedding Dress Design Competition. Last year’s winner, Öztürk Yıkılmaz, who earned the opportunity to present his first professional runway show, met the audience this year with a performance fashion show bearing his own name on the IF Wedding Fashion İzmir runway.

Hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized for the 19th time by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD), IF Wedding Fashion İzmir welcomed the runway show of Öztürk Yıkılmaz on its final day.

Yıkılmaz presented his 20-piece collection titled “Silent Elegance,” featuring primarily evening wear designs alongside bridal gowns. Bringing together the romantic female silhouettes of the past with today’s strong and minimalist stance, Yıkılmaz revealed an aesthetic approach that is understated yet impactful. Inspired by the trends of the 2027 season, pastel tones and glossy satin fabrics stood out in the collection.

“A Great Source of Pride”

Öztürk Yıkılmaz expressed that showcasing a fashion show under his own name on the runway of IF Wedding Fashion İzmir—one of Europe’s most important fairs in this field—held a very special meaning for him:

“Until stepping onto this runway, I experienced many emotions. But the applause I received at the end of the show was indescribable, incredible, and priceless. The support given to me throughout this journey was just as valuable as that applause. I would like to thank İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, İZFAŞ, and everyone who contributed. Whenever I needed something, everyone was there to help. Being here and achieving this is a great pride for me. From now on, I want to do my best as a professional, continue presenting collections under my own name on this runway, and share my designs with the audience again. I truly believe that other young designers can also take part on this stage, and I invite them all to join the Wedding Dress Design Competition.”

Pastel Tones and Shimmering Satin Fabrics

The fabric sponsorship of the show was provided by Prenses Tekstil, while choreography and model organization were undertaken by Rönesans Model Agency.

İZFAŞ General Manager Tuğçe Cumalıoğlu presented a plaque to Mehmet Bilgin, owner of Prenses Tekstil, while İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Council Member Ceren Türer Uykal presented a plaque to Öztürk Yıkılmaz.

The performance show attracted great interest from sector representatives and visitors.

In the young designer’s collection, an aesthetic bridge between past and present was created, where romantic silhouettes met modern lines. Aiming for a powerful yet understated presence, Yıkılmaz sought to achieve an impressive harmony through simple details. Once again, pastel shades and glossy satin fabrics inspired by the 2027 season trends became the highlights of the collection.

“The Real Reward Is Being on This Runway”

Emphasizing the significance of presenting a performance fashion show under his own name at IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, Yıkılmaz stated:

“Rather than the monetary prize, the real reward for me is being on this runway. Displaying my collection with my own name at such a major organization is an indescribable feeling. A year ago, I could not even imagine that I would be here today. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the İZFAŞ team, my mentor, and everyone in the atelier supported me throughout this entire process. IF Wedding Fashion İzmir is truly a huge opportunity for young designers.”

The “Silent Elegance” performance fashion show received strong attention from exhibitors, industry professionals, and visitors throughout the fair.
