Applications have opened for the 13th Bridal Gown Design Competition, held within the scope of IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal Wear, Groom Wear and Eveningwear Fair. Aiming to introduce new designers to the industry, this year’s competition will be organized under the theme “Modaverse,” with the goal of revealing new-age designs that carry the traces of traditional fashion.
IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Bridal Wear, Groom Wear and Eveningwear Fair will open its doors for the 16th time between November 22–25, 2022, at Fuar İzmir, organized by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD) and hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
This year, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir also aims to introduce new designers to the sector through the 13th Bridal Gown Design Competition. The competition, which seeks to strengthen the industry with new designs and to unveil original creations capable of setting fashion and trends in international markets, brought together 295 designs by 101 designers last year. This year as well, it will unite young designers with industry professionals.
Applications for the competition—organized under the “Modaverse” theme to merge the past and the future and to reveal new-age designs inspired by traditional fashion—will be accepted until 5:00 PM on September 23, 2022. The preliminary selection will take place on September 30, 2022.
On October 3, the semi-finalists will be announced, and the designers who advance to the final will begin the production process in the ateliers of İzmir-based fashion designers, under the mentorship of industry professionals. Young talents will have the opportunity to present their designs to professionals during the opening ceremony fashion show on November 22, 2022, where the competition awards will also be presented.
In addition to taking confident steps into the industry, the winners will receive special prizes. The first-place designer will receive TRY 17,500 and earn the right to present a Performance Fashion Show at IF Wedding Fashion İzmir 2023. The second-place designer will receive TRY 15,000, and the third-place designer will be awarded TRY 12,500.
